New Year 2010

Be careful that with Mars in leo and Saturn in libra there is not some significant 'sweeping of stuff under carpets' to contend with. You may not be guilty of it., but those around you may be. It's a time for people to take the line of least resistance now, simply because they can. And especially if they have persuaded themselves that it doesn't matter. To talk yourself into a note of indifference is almost akin to allowing these people to do whatever they please with your agenda of choices on the premise that you will be glad of the assistance. Virgo is very accommodating, often to have this confused with complacency. But don't complain when it becomes the case this January, February and March. Change course now, if you don't like the signs, or take obviously important matters into your own control. Where the matters effect you, we mean, not where they don't.

The combination of trying to please your partner and trying to get your own way is almost certain to be too much. You can only deal with one or the other, so decide now which it is to be well before March.

If you have to take a few steps back in either finances or planning in April you should be aware of why you are doing so. And if it takes you unawares it is because points within the foregoing paragraph have been overlooked. There is a time to halt, a time to reverse and a time to dig your heels in - you will need to know which you are doing for April when Saturn retrogrades briefly into your sign, or you will not get the conditions alined in time for autumn when the real head-to-head begins between financial advancement and creative rewards. All virgos now need to have given themselves a respite from the hard conditions of the last three years, and to have taken something from it, even if it's only the knowledge of how to prevent the necessity of it a second time. The integrity famous in your sign has been tested to the hilt and the respect you are owed is coming back to you in bucket loads provided you are aware of when to demand it and when to keep your own counsel.

The year begins with Mercury retrograde in capricorn and that puts the accent on accuracy of facts and figures. Sort these for the last half of January and the first week of February so that advanced connections are alined rather than askew and some smooth and interesting bridgework is made regarding vocational planning which is clearer and stronger as May heralds summer. Everything you do now is perhaps in a zone which is unfamiliar to you, because it's a case of learning a new code of exchange with people who deal differently or think differently. But this is something you have prepared for, or at least were alerted to last year. The transformations then were on the cards, and the links are now more crucial to the mechanism this February and March ... you only need to throw a switch once to illuminate a space with light. Once you've seen what it contains you cannot be kept in ignorance.

May Update

We all know what sticklers you can be for exactness and perfection - it's a given that virgo has to do its very best, even under impossible or non-productive circumstances! As the longer transit of Mars through leo reaches it's conclusion in May and brings to an end a possibly wearying process of trying to constantly win in a no-win situation, it needs to be more obvious to you where some of your virtues are being literally squandered. Don't forget, your greatest strength is also your foremost weakness in certain circumstances. It might be a case of learning when to know you are beaten. Certainly there is a loss of energy at the end of May if you have not heeded a need for slowing down, or a yielding of responsibility where it ought to be off-loaded from your own shoulders. If this refers to your health then act sooner rather than later, and if it refers to other responsibilities then just slow the pace and wait for the cavalry.

The exit of Uranus from pisces into aries in June is only a temporary foray into what will eventually prove to be entirely untried changes next year. However, the glimpse you are afforded in June and July is enough to whet your appetite or allow for a heads-up whilst you see where the force of significant others impacts on your need to make lasting future changes. You are not an island. The fact that Jupiter accompanies Uranus at a time when the world is tilting on the edge of massive shifting consciousness means that your own part in something is clarified and made more stark for you. The choices then are fairly clear but need tweaking as July folds and August brings a mellowing and a softer surface provided by a wider network of support or policy making. Jupiter of course graces the area of partnership in your solar chart, and is set to do a fast journey through this in the first six months of the year; your head may spin with the potential revealed in that time. But If any of it is to see Orion it should be laid claim to by the middle of July.

The retrograde motion of Saturn into your sign in April allows you to finish off loose ends from last autumn, or else it drags you back to unresolved situations which may seem to be a line of least resistance when you most need it. It is actually a question of cups being half empty or half full, So a lot depends on your personal situation. But maybe you need to take a stroll back to some former place and time, not very far - just to 2009 - and deliberate on what you have lost, or what you are better without. Do it in time for August when Saturn again enters libra and still squares Pluto but at least then makes a fairer framework for what will be your security or your business empire as the next two years elapse. The second retrograde Mercury aspect this year in the latter half of April to the second week of May is in the earth sign, taurus, and brings a continuation in terms of substance and stability from what was laid down or agreed in January. Things will turn around somewhat, but only so that they present in all ways possible the information for fully understanding and connecting; there are many ways to approach an arrangement or an agreement. And whether this be personal to you or merely a matter of convenience your closer scrutiny pays off when alternate or wider methods lead to better choices within the same matter in June and July.

September Update

Now that Jupiter has retrograded bak into your opposite sign of pisces, the last seven year chapter can really wind down. Between November and late January the final bell tolls for the rites of passage which accompanied your journey with someone else (or more than one other) from 2003 onwards. Things will never be the same after March when Uranus joins Jupiter in the year long transit Jupiter makes through Aries. Certainly Uranus is due to stay in Aries a lot longer than Jupiter will stay, but the period in which both planets are together is one which gives much scope for virgo people to release bad habits of pessimism or melancholy by curtsey of the people they now meet - in some cases directly through their partners, and in other cases because of joint circumstances. What your partner is doing now, or plans to do, will mean you moving in a different direction than the one you envisaged several years previously. It's exciting, but it could also prove overwhelming. So August and September might have revealed an easier plan against a backdrop of a tough regime that is now dispensable. It's your choice. But remember It is often hard to let go, even when it makes better sense.

In October you should expect to enter into a less clear part of the landscape as you investigate or research information and connection which you learned of in earlier months this year. But the more intricate these investigations the more powerful the results. This is a time for you to be given your own responsibilities in ways untried, simply because you are resourceful enough to succeed and responsible enough to make good use of the resultant effort of the work. It matters not in what field this work lies, it will mean the freedom to pursue wider or more lucrative methods of living and surviving, and that is the important thing. Many times the clue to success doesn't lie in money, it lies in the ability to cover more ground in less time and have irons in many fires. There is not a lot of chance of you diversifying without sound thought or basis so you can afford to be adventurous, even speculatory. Virgo is never far away from that spark of realism erring on the side of cautionary, so when you fly it is never by the seat of your pants unless in an emergency. This is not a time of emergency - it's a time of expediency.

The retrograde aspect of Mercury in your sign from the 20th August until the 13th September is bound to turn certain matters around, or cause them to grind to a halt pending better understanding. Is that understanding your own? Or is it the duty of somebody else? Do not proceed into these bolder autumn months without establishing that fact. A lot of future scenarios rest on it, and it is best to set the record straight for those times. By October you will need to ascertain who you choose to represent you within the easier path or plan presented in August/September. Discussion needs to take place, and therefore the facts which worried you in August can be looked into more closely out through September; they play a larger part in things than originally thought. By mid-November the difficult restraints of the last twelve months are well on the way to lifting, mostly because you are prepared to change your approach to dealing with difficult circumstances, and partly because the false criteria you were aiming for has shifted into a better sense of realism.
