Outlook for 2012

January 2012

The long transit of Mars in your sign began in November and ends early July this year. We probably mentioned it in the Autumn Update but it's worth mentioning that in April, Mars opposes the newly entered Neptune in Pisces from early degrees and although it is still then in retrograde motion it soon goes direct again in the middle of the month. The push Mars gives to Neptune from your sign this spring brings to an end some strong myths or misconceptions you might have about people who have formed a strong position in your daily life. In April and May there could be some sudden disappearances, denials or confusions over what were previously sound arrangements. This could cause something of a rift in your thinking or in your needs at that time, particularly with regard to where you should put your reliance or efforts in the worldly sense. These may be sorted out in late June and July when some secretive planning or low key schemes lead to old amalgamation giving way to new. It's no bad thing, simply a result of a pruning period and a purge in loyalties.

The full exit of Neptune from Aquarius into Pisces, the twelfth sign of the zodiac, in February this year is significant in many ways, not the least of them being that 2012 is the year when the Age of Pisces ends fully in favour of the New Age of Aquarius proper. (It has taken a hundred years or so to complete the 'hand over' owing to the slowness of the Procession of The Equinox). Pisces is the polar opposite of Virgo and is ruled by Neptune – planet of all things nebulous, elusive and creative. Neptune in relation to Mars then will place an accent on your partnerships, either by way of some of the ideals your partners hold and how these impact on you, or by way of your own less realistic beliefs about how people see themselves in relation to you. Neptune can have a surreal and mysterious effect on everything it touches, and it can also mean that negligence, inattention to detail and lack of awareness play a part in undermining or destabilising already fragile situations. Look to your rights from February, especially where the needs, expectations and demands of others are concerned.

The transit of Jupiter in Taurus goes back to the beginning in January, recreating some of the same path you trod June to August last in planning for longer term developments or financial engineering aimed at gaining greater security. The big difference this time is that March sees the previous obstacles or impediments dissolve to leave a clearer pitch and a smoother way forward. If this isn't the case then you must put something on alternative lines and not look back to discarded methods and ways. In late April Uranus will begin to form a strong aspect to Pluto, demanding confrontation from two opposing or diametrically opposed forces: a need to invest time or money in more creative or innovative ventures, and at the same time a need to have assurance that this is financially possible. A balancing act, possibly not easily manageable until Pluto backs down in early July - also the time that Mars is through with your own vibration of Virgo. The retrograde motion of Mercury in Aries in March and April gives a chance to analyses the proposals of others and to slow down a too hectic pace within financial and shared arrangements, so that the errors of late February can be corrected, or in some cases brought to light where they have not been spotted before. It's around the March period that Uranus goes beyond the sticking point it kept meeting since its entrance into Aries in June 2010 - meaning that there is an increase in speed and progress in everything related to the way you feel you fit in with the scheme forming your everyday life, and the way you can utilise that position to revive and relaunch areas of security for which you are responsible, not only for your own benefit but for dependents and those around you.
