Outlook for 2010

New Year 2010

Within the area of your usual work through to your professional skills - and they may or may not be one and the same - there is a tussle of strength between the liberal or the more flexible ways of working and the urge to sell your greater freedom for greater rewards. The wrangle might continue throughout the year, and it might be something you don't talk about or express plainly, even if you sit in the middle and seem to participate. And if this description doesn't feel exactly right, it may be that daily obligations or duties of a different kind clash with your future plans. Either way, it is about the terms of your larger service and the need to break free of a binding situation which seems to rely on finance or backing or investment - or maybe all three. We cannot offer a cure-all, but if you look at the reasons behind why you have allowed the dilemma to build, or even thought it to be something else at its inception, then you could well go a long way to untangling things. It's a bit like the knots which form in chains or strings - the more you pick and pull the tighter they become, but often just loosely rolling and shaking them is enough to find the way in to the centre of the mess.

The lightening of the Saturn movement in the middle of January gives a step back to an intense oppressor or problem, making for a better position from which to re-negotiate or re-plan between then and March. Remember the second phase of the Mars through leo transit begins in March, so it could well be that what was felt to be a pressure from last October to the end of the year in March turns into an energetic movement formed of people or strategies which take you past the clunky bit where plans were derailed or sabotaged at Christmas.

The presence of Jupiter in pisces now is boding well for recreational and social experiences which help you know that lifestyle can often be improved on a single choice, or through a single connection with the right information. But it is best to bear in mind that pisces is a vibration concerned with the non-physical and that Jupiter is concerned with illuminating what is to be found, and that it will be necessary to do more with what you unearth in the first six months of the year once June arrives. You will see a lot of good stuff disappear if you don't have the ability to anchor it before June and then take it to a safer place. September will allow you to collect anything you had to leave behind in June/July, but only so much of it, so do the brunt of the research before then and don't be afraid to return to stronger or more reliable sources of help between April and July. It will only be for a brief period. New and welcome sources of friendship in March and April may be founded on past ground but even so need to be looked at in a new way via new places and ventures, and there is much to do with these people and their ideas in April that can be of lasting value. Get ready to break with the unnecessary, the cumbersome and the overly restrictive in the summer months, which brings us right back to where we started this text in the first paragraph.

May Update

Mercury has been retrograde in your own sign since April and goes direct again in the second week of May, just in time to help with the details of a surpassing point where you find that issues both personal and domestic move forward farther and more steadily than they have since the end of last year. Whether these developments are to your liking or not, they certainly bring the feeling that life isn't static and that you are not doomed to stay in a definite pattern of uncertainty or disadvantage for good. It is like saying, if you run to the top of the hill you can just enjoy the view or you can also learn from the landscape. You must think of what it was you wanted last autumn when Mars began its long toil through leo and remember what was meaningful to you as you began to see more and more intricate levels of your own personal feelings and private life reveal the anomalies and the depth. If you still want the same things you must want them for the right reasons, but if the agenda has changed you have to know how to make salient choices in June which allow you not to waste what you have gained, done or seen in the previous nine months. Not everything needs to be discarded, even though a lot of it requires recycling.

The significant thing about June is that Uranus comes a little way out of pisces after seven years and enters aries, and it brings a window of wider expanse of which the view is either pleasing or daunting but through which you must look if you are to understand the near future. And though a lot of what you see is foreign or alien it is a refreshing change from the narrow or the predictable. So open it and sniff the air or lean out and get a really good look around: you will not have to follow up on what you see unless you decide you wish to, this is because August brings about the chance to recoup lost contacts or draw on resources and goodwill that allow the retention of a previous setting within a catalogue of restrictions based on the need to control a hectic pace. This with particular regard to people or places you feel you must keep connection with.

Times are changing, and perhaps in uncharacteristic ways, but June sees the benefic presence of Jupiter in the area of your solar chart presenting unexpected but welcome help whilst the transformative powers of the universe force your hand in some areas which cause emotional ties to break and others to be strengthened as June turns to July. The nitty gritty of these details is best sorted at the very start of May, for the way you can decipher the smallest clause and iron out the tiniest wrinkle then makes all the difference between winning and losing the confidence needed to secure and purify the ground on which your joy of life for its own sake can be built. This is the year when your profession or your vocation add up to make sense, or else unravel as a badly designed pattern that lost shape and reason yet still dictate a pace which may be disproportionate to the gains involved. Choice is everything, and the correct use of choice is second only to timing when it comes to getting life sorted.

September Update

Both Mars and Venus meet in your opposing sign from mid September, which spells the need for closer attention to partnership matters and the less than transparent motives or thoughts of those around you who can affect your life and plans. This is deepened by Venus retrograding in the second week of October and ploughing back into Libra for most of November, before going direct at the beginning of December. By that time you will have attempted some daring moves, with or around that group of people mentioned above, and you will therefore either have the feeling of steady manageable life progress or of not getting the right response for all your pervious efforts. If the latter, then between the 10th December and the year-end you need to go back into the smaller detail and cross the i's and dot the t's. And don't stop until you have made others responsible for their own part in the proposed plans, however sketchy these have to be for now.

The return of Jupiter into pisces in September has meant that to close chapters you have to know where the loose ends are and what they signify in consequence in future months. It is all too possible to get into a tangle in late September and October by being vague about where things have been left, and allowing that vagueness to give others permission to walk away from what they should be completing in areas where you cannot proceed without their input. By next January it will be too late, and if they are unscrupulous they will be walking away from responsibility and commitment and leaving not just loose ends but gaping holes through which most of the previous gains can be wasted or lost. Either things are worth doing on a joint basis or they are not. They may have begun well but how they are wound down means the difference between a valuable experience, which might not have paid off but may yet do so, and a downright disaster which could have been avoided. You cannot go into new horizons next year with old baggage, unless you have stored it somewhere safe for a good reason.

For some Taureans, Neptune still poses a bit of a problem from the point of view of awkward or unmanageable situations - the kind which lose you either money or energy, or both, and tend to go on forever, with some very deceptive points of call. Those of you born in the last deconate of taurus are most susceptible (11th to the 20th May) but those in the middle deconate could also be affected by the back draft: you could find yourself too reliant on people who are powerless to really make a difference or unable to help any more - a reversal of circumstances may have rendered previous safety mechanisms dodgy or substandard. It is best to think worst case scenario and become more motivated towards not needing whatever it is, or was, that warranted the security measures in the first place. These are perilous times for a lot of people financially, especially if they were convinced of things being a certain way forever. The year is set to end between a gamble and a careful speculation. There is a world of difference, although you have to get back far enough to see it. Maybe you cannot avoid having to take a chance wherever you stand.
