New Year 2010

For some of you the dramatic fusion between your own sun and the significant transit of Mars in leo is causing much tension or urgency in the area of your career. Whilst for other scorpios the accent is on how much you should present and reveal to the outer world and its brother and how much you should gloss over or keep to yourself. But there is no way of knowing without weighing up some of the developments which happened between last October to December in terms of who is responding well and who is not. Contrast these against the consequences which unfold in the initial stages of the new year out to mid-February. Being ready to take a completely new approach or re-run in March. If the year starts with a Mercury retrograde motion it is for the purpose of allowing you to communicate with people who need to be more specific about who they are, and maybe for you to be specific about what you need from them. It may have begun to be apparent just before Christmas but it needs to be put into clearer terms in the latter half of January.

Elsewhere in the solar chart: the drama that can be created by action in the combined Scorpio/Leo vibration is quite well documented, and if you're not aware of it you have only to think of some of the leo people you know and the dynamic between you and them. It is true that leo is about matters of the heart and scorpio is about the emotions. And if you're thinking they're one and the same then think again, they are not! The significant difference lies in what the heart knows and acts upon and what the emotions convey on a more temporal and fluctuating basis. The intense steadiness that Scorpio can summon comes from the deepening of those emotions to the extent where they are lasting and stabilised. And this process is something that periodically has to blend with the heart. Such a period is now, and so the leo experience opens both the doorway and the motive for this to happen. If you can understand that you will see how and why things are developing the way they are at present.

The entrance of Jupiter into pisces this year will be something which lifts the accent from the more private side of life - and as we saw from the first paragraph there is a dilemma of how public to become and how to preserve privacy on certain matters. This is one which only you can decide on once you've seen the quick return of this planet by June. The necessity is to lay down more habitual ways of doing things. But until then you might want to allow your creative imagination to aid the famous instinct and just trust a little more in order to gain either the authority or the confidence to do what you know you do best by the autumn. The only way to do it is to do it, and then stand back and await the judgement or the assessments when you're sure you've gone for the canvas with all the colour you have at your disposal. It's a wide and inviting stage now for many scorpios and the only thing which can hinder you is too much pride and not enough honesty where it really counts.

May Update

As Mercury has been retrograde in your opposing sign of taurus since the third week of April, it will be the second week of May before the irritating or unanswered questions around partners are getting to be sorted. At the same time there is an equalising with where things became complicated or stuck just prior to the end of last year, and the third week of May will begin to carry things forward faster than of previous to a better understanding, consolidation or point of agreement than perhaps you had thought possible. This is if you can become less fixed or adamant about what the world is and what it should yield to you in compensation for what you put in. Everything has an accountability and comes back to you in some way, and you above all people are aware of it. It is just that it doesn't always do it in the way and from the direction you were expecting. Loosen up on your dogmas and mind-set and let the Universe provide you with a better plan than the one you have rigidly drawn. This is not to say you should lessen your intention to reach a certain point, but that you should keep in view what that point was for and how you wanted it to feel rather than where exactly it was located and what it looked like. If this is too abstract for you, then let's put it anther way: a lot of your discontentment recently is about what you didn't get to experience, not about what you wanted to achieve. They are two different things, with a different central focus.

The presence of Jupiter in pisces in the first six months of the year will give credence to your dreams, not necessarily to you statistics and your ground plans. Things come in strange ways with the Jupiter/pisces effect; surreal sometimes, and impossible to sustain at other times, but there will be always an access doorway which allows a more open route to the same ideal or notion. Find it and get familiar with it by June and that way you can sustain what was either precious or downright miraculously revealed in the first half of the year. Because this will become relevant when the last four months of the year bring Jupiter again into the realm of the elusive and effervescent pisces. Pisces loves to veil its subject matter and to be enigmatic, and so do you, so you will adore some of the way things are presented now. But you must make practical the framework, wearing another hat if necessary, but seeing things in a pragmatic way and being critical of the finer details in the extreme so as to be able to make the most of what the aspirations and once-in-a-blue-moon preview revealed in spring of 2010. The reality has to be in sync with the vision for October, when the best of what you can do needs to be demonstrated or put into use. Seeing it and being it are two different things.

The continuation of the Saturn/Pluto square is a concern to be taken seriously because it monitors or supervises your more pressing problems in a way which overtakes your choices at times, but at others gives excellent backing to get you through at a higher level of efficiency and speed than you ever imagined attainable. You cannot have one without the other. Know when to obey and when to assert. The Uranus/Jupiter conjunction in June is brief but it allows for a softening of an otherwise jagged or unclear corner which if turned at speed could throw you off balance. This way, with the use of these two energies in June/July, you have a navigation system to help, and on the next hairy scary bend (maybe March 2011) you will be familiar with the road.

September Update

The fact that both Mars and Venus have entered your sign this September indicates the need to understanding the fuller depth of your desire nature. No mean feat! But the descent to the more hidden or buried levels of the life consciousness may be on a gradient as the year elapses, or they may be disconcertingly sudden, brought on by events calling for inner searching and depth scrutiny. You might experience the need to cut through the obscure and the deliberately evasive parts where circumstances permit, as facts and people disappear without warning into places where you cannot follow without permission. For the most part, October renders a feeling of mystery that cannot fail to affect your outlook. As Jupiter has gone back into pisces, a lot of this remains something which has to lie unsolved until the middle of November, when the means of enlightenment is near to hand. Near it may be, but it is not automatic; you must make an effort to apply it before it does what you want it to do and reveals the anomalies and the facts which seem to have slowed down proceedings for weeks by simply being unavailable.

Scorpio is reputed to like secrets - usually its own - those of others are something that is irksome; the mirror effect probably. The quest to know and to fathom is like an itch. But it is necessary as the year ends to define the difference between secrecy and privacy. Because not to do so is to invite trouble when your inquiries are sussed and your investigation is seen possibly as an invasive procedure. If privacy is an entitlement then be careful not to be outed, unless you can accuse someone of undue secrecy where it is not merited. These are tricky manoeuvres and only you may understand to what they refer. But all scorpio influenced people and those with scorpio rising are now having to set their own moral guidelines and upgrade their ethics as they are granted more power or autonomy in varying degrees. It doesn't matter what definition your role in life takes, it is a question of degree, but it's somehow beginning to lead you into areas that are blurred by non-existent markers and sketchy guidelines. You simply have to make your own, and when asked, state plainly that it was what you though the best. The universe loves confidence within honesty. We cannot always play safe, or get it right-on and p.c. It is the way of the world that people inadvertently think outside the box, for themselves, and accidentally defy precedents.

It may cost less to continue now than to go back. But the deciding point is somewhere between the middle of November and the end of the year. Whatever you decide, the restrictions and curfews of the last year will be lessened by 2011, and if you look back you may see the reason they were there. Question is, did you make use of that? It can be said that we choose restrictions to overcome other more rampant factors that we will not or cannot control. If you have used the past year wisely you will now be well in advance of your own capabilities in some specialist area of your expertise because you've been forced to apply this talent to survive or make good. Know when to leave the holding area! and as Jupiter enters Aries next January for the full twelve month transit you will see that you are very well prepared for the untried. 2011 is the year of the warrior, the pioneer or the innovator. It is your research or your ability to transform negatives into positives that is most needed now.
