New Year 2010

The long transit of Mars through the sign of leo is set to be in there until next June, signifying a great potential to find out where you really belong - in the environmental and the more spiritual sense. And there is a need to take this quite seriously because by March this year you may need to use that information and begin a new plan or a new route to the same destination from a different angle. The presence of Saturn in libra in square to Pluto has made sure that your lifestyle choices are not too loose or pliable right now. But by January you may see that change here is desirable and possible. It should be in line with a more heart-warming or inviting vista, otherwise the effort is not worth it.

Okay, supposing you made all the right decisions from October last to Christmas! then you may be well pleased with what you achieved and simply awaiting a time to go the last mile. It really isn't until April and then the presence of both Mercury and Venus in taurus in the area of your loyalties might mean that you can have the assistance, or even the one-off generous favour from friends and colleagues, which short cuts or does away with a lengthy process you were wondering how to deal with or circumvent.

Your job prospects in April rest on how much you get along with people, and even if you don't have a job there is something you follow on a daily or weekly basis which relies on goodwill and popularity, and it now must be put onto another footing or upgraded so that it doesn't simply become obsolete. The quick transit of Jupiter in pisces until June will require you not to overdo the pursuit of too much unrealistic recreational time - and if you do, be at least prepared to emerge quickly and efficiently at moments when it's necessary to check and establish facts that are inescapable as a reality check, because Jupiter will dawdle back into pisces in September for last ditch efforts to correct or dissolve plans. Whichever it is to be is decided in the first five months of the year. Your dreams are important to you - Sagittarius needs to have future vision as much as fish need water - but this must be in perspective and June will test you on this, so be ready for it. You can unfreeze the frame between January and April, but if you do it without care and caution you will get into a mess which hurtles you back to situations of 2009 which lead you into cloudier times. So beware being too much a law unto yourself, and become more adept at reading the situations round about you.

Venus in taurus in the area of your solar chart concerning the support you might give or expect from others, or the enjoyment you derive from being helpful in certain places and seeing it reciprocated, is highlighted in May by the Mercury retrograde motion which has gone on since the third week of April. This calls for the need for consolidation in certain plans if you don't want to feel caught between two demands or two loyalties and then see the situation rise to a point of dilemma or unnecessary sacrifice. This is possible as the June period presents a new or exciting challenge potentially conflicting with existing plans. This should be sorted in May as best as you can, and if not then left to unfold with an open agreement on modification wherever possible as the year moves on. The planet Neptune is still in your sign, causing gaps in understanding or logic, and therefore - worst case scenario - loss of ground due to overly optimistic speculation at the expense of sound research.

Don't allow yourself to be too demanded of in June, or to be lulled into the martyr role because you wish to persevere against the odds with something you fear you'll be criticised for. You must see that not everyone can agree with your need to doing something to the extreme. Agree to differ and discard the need to feel apologetic so that this consciousness doesn't invite all the wrong things. Either do it and be proud of it or give in with good grace. The presence of Jupiter in pisces is bringing a mellow side to the fore in domestic and sensitive personal areas of life, not to say a need to seem overly accommodating or contrite for past faults that might be viewed as current ones under the conditions prevailing. Some cautious compensation for selfish indulgence is all well and good in moderation but can lead to you being used or exploited in the June/July time when people turn around and do exactly as you invited them to do, directly or indirectly, by changing tactics and policy.

The change of sign of Uranus in June from pisces to aries is one which will not be felt too drastically (given that Uranus is a rather chaotic or dramatic influence wherever it wanders) until the spring of 2011 when it re-enters aries for the next seven years. But in June this year the planet is accompanied by Jupiter which brings relief to the otherwise forceful changes which Uranus is trying to effect. Literally, there will be an easy way to do something in June, followed by a harder way if matters have not been approached properly this year. For Sagittarians it will concern those matters where you like to take a gamble, a more outlandish stance or just a new and creative pastime. A lot of what we undertake in life is done for the benefit of our deeper need to be enlightened or entertained rather than for sheer necessity, and Sagittarians know this instinctively, which is where they earn their reputation for being reckless or devil-may-care. What you see in June enthrals you perhaps, but should be underpinned by the right information and preparation before it is allowed full voice or full throttle in March next year. This is an excellent way of cutting loose from a restrictive arrangement or set of demands mentioned in the above paragraph; the perfect excuse. But this is also the path to greater understanding of what has really been going on with you and certain people in the emotional arena. If you entered into conditional yet unspoken agreements in October of 2009 when Mars was setting off on a long excursion of leo, you can expect now to see the results in the sincerity others are beginning to show you, or the lack of it. It's the time now to state honesty about what is wanted and see if it can't be achieved in a manner benefiting all.

September Update

Mars in your twelfth solar house in September and October is something you really want to capitalise on whilst it's with Venus. The more determined your quest for knowledge and resource, the deeper the bond between you and your subject out to the year end. The retrograde motion of Venus in the second week of October leads to some rather intense feelings, but these are not the sort that will go unremarked or unnoticed. There is a strange situation for a lot of sagittarians, because you are attempting to make changes to the long-term itinerary, or propel the forward planning around location in a way which is not too obvious. Do not draw too much attention to yourself, and be careful about the way things are set in motion. Or else there are pitfalls likely in the last ten days of November and the first half of December from sudden lapses of connection or gaps in the line of communication. One suggestion would be to look closely at the detail of the issue in the latter half of September. You might not otherwise spot that something changed between the beginning of that month and the end. And this - unless noted and alined - allows for the potential absence or gap to occur and possibly to come to light too late.

The relentless Saturn/Pluto aspect relaxes its grip as October ends, and it may even be possible to feel the tension lifting from your lifestyle tensions as September folds. The aftermath of this rigid shake-up is all too apparent, you are now in a different position than you were this time last year, but it is not necessarily the disaster you thought it would be. If it is, then maybe you refused to look at the writing on the wall whilst there was time for damage limitation. For most Sagittarian people born in the the last seven days of the sign, the need to face a revolution in life circumstances one way or another is not something that can be argued with as 2010 comes to an end. If you resist the evidence of your senses - and some even more factual findings - then you must run the gauntlet with the financial and security issues dogging you since last year. To not recognize the tide that sets your vessel onward is foolish or stubborn in the extreme. Unless you are ready to parse down and resize and aline drastically with new measure pertaining to old systems, then your reluctance to try new harbours would not be understood by people whose help you rely on or whose support is invaluable. Alienating them is not the wisest course.

In the last few days of November the sun in your own sign throws light on some very delicate issues which can be smoothed or soothed after a simmering-to-boiling-point climax in the latter part of November, and this may be lingering into December. But if you are wise you will not exaggerate the matter or exacerbate it by making it the focal point of gossip or excitement to those who don't need to know over the Christmas period. It might be hard to not talk about something so interesting or impactful, but it is well worth the effort of self-restraint. There is a chapter winding down now, with the exit of Uranus from pisces, and it might be the best policy to close it without the skeletons rattling. By all means build your own weekend retreat or your own get away. That is entirely your secret, but don't boast about what you're doing if you don't want to be followed or have undue attention to your plans. People love mysterious behaviour in others, it adds spice. So if you don't act in a mysterious way you won't set a puzzle to solve in the first place. The spring of 2011 will bring all the challenge and buzz you need and it may be better to conserve your energies for then.
