New Year 2010So Jupiter is in your sign now, signifying a fast return from January to June this year, when it makes a quick debut into Aries before going retrograde and then landing back in your sign in September until the third week of January 2011. The first half of this year then is about getting your ducks in a row, in time for an exploration into more adventurous (or just untried) territory, concerning the way you earn your money or nurture your basic financial security. This could involve being totally impractical and waiting until something more serious nudges you into submission - whereupon you decide to become very focused. Or it could entail some more heady flight of fancy which takes your imagination - and your money - and runs with you until you need to reverse and get things into better order in the autumn. The middle of November will tell you whether things are worth doing and doing well. It isn't as if nothing worthwhile is happening in the meantime. There is the Saturn square to Pluto for example, which for you pisces people means taking care how you proceed with plans using the energy, time or investment that others have had the necessary faith in you to supply. You may see something here as a safety net but it is not one which is fireproof - or unbreakable - and so the experiences you had from last October to Christmas must be taken into account and woven into the ones you intend to have once you have seen a way round current obstacles, which will most likely be in March. If you have done things with a back-up system you will want to paint it big and go for your vision in January, February and March. So be it! But by the second week of April you might be asked to put right some of the corners you cut last October in your efforts to get ahead enthusiastically before the killjoys or the harbingers of doom stopped you, disillusioned you and generally held you back. Not for you now the slow burner, not even if you're a fearful kind of piscean type. Once you sense that promised land you're off in search of the right vehicle. But please be aware of a too rumbustious move in late April and early May that could hoist you up the ladder several places only to shift you back down again in Autumn. There is a softer focus now that Saturn is in libra, but it comes with a price later on. There's no such thing as a free lunch, although it doesn't cost to look at the menu. Furthering this metaphor --- before you decide on the expensive ingredients it is wise to see whether there are the facilities available to make good use of them. Do this at once! Learn to cook between April and August and do the job yourself. There is no substitute for hands-on experience first hand knowledge; the first three months of this year are about being modest enough to admit this and honest enough to reveal to those who have a right to know, exactly what you are planning. May UpdateOf course the big news is the change of Uranus from your own sign into Aries in June. After seven years this is liable to be felt by you as a shifting of the various hopes and visions you've held onto - perhaps to keep you going in times of hardship, or perhaps because other people helped fuel certain of these beliefs and now you all have to make good or withdraw. However, Uranus only dallies with Aries at nought degrees and then in September it moves back into Pisces for a further six months. This may be taken as a sign to leave the finishing touches of the afore-mentioned hopes and dreams until that period. Or even delay full completion until then. But the most crucial message is to take things to a stronger or bolder frontier in the middle months of this year. There is a resounding need to be open, confrontational or even a law unto yourself, if you are to get anything to the level which equates a permanent seat on the committee or a visible cornerstone from which to proceed through to the more positive and lasting territory. Next spring is when Uranus really gets a permanent sort of grip in Aries, so you have until then to learn how to be more cut and thrust or competitive in these areas. Remember, without the prelude of false starts, hick-ups and teething troubles nothing worth doing is really believable because life in its stark material reality is like that; there is always a planning stage and a time of trial and error. You may think you've already been through that last stage, but think again. The planning may have happened but now the hardline preps are required. The current Saturn/Pluto square is holding in place a set of circumstances which allow you to build but only in a certain area and to a certain size. You may be glad of this later, because although these restrictions are irksome they are also an invisible guide which supports from the rear and makes infallible decisions that are too large for you alone to comprehend. Such is the nature of astrology in the esoteric and grander design, and you either have faith or you are sceptical, but the proof of this particular pudding is in December this year when the nuts and bolts present a cast iron conclusion. You cannot proceed beyond this point without thinking success or defeat. In other words, it is very hard to fool yourself beyond then about what has become reality and what has not. Since April Saturn has been back in Virgo, your opposite sign, but this only presents or rehashes the circumstances of last year - much diluted probably - to be finalised alongside most of what we have been saying in the paragraph above. The situations and circumstances around partners and people close to you will be harder for you to manage than your independent affairs and require some patience, some understanding and maybe some turning of a blind eye, if you want to close a chapter, or even a couple of chapters, and move on as swiftly as possible in mid-summer without too much fuss and wrangle. Only you know what your tolerance levels are and whether your integrity allows you to ignore certain flaws or debts owed to you, and not just in money. But the chances are that what you stand to gain is obvious and therefore you might have to be very pigheaded not to see the common sense of letting bygones be bygones and getting on with the bigger picture. By August you will have to put your name to the design, and be counted in with the current arrangements or step back, so you have until then to decide and to play with the idea of choosing between the old and the new. The choice is not a very difficult one, but it is still yours naturally and by rights. September UpdateJupiter retrogrades back into your sign in September and it's concerned with the expansion of your ambitions; they will, between now and the end of the year, reach a level to be called substantial. Or they will get overblown and fold in on themselves. Take the experiences of the first six months of the year, combine it with the innovation and foresight of mid-summer and make the decision to be your own delegate when seeking financial, legal or expert advise or help of any kid. The more you gain knowledge and classified rights of entry in October the better your chance of sustaining those privileges as November becomes December and the basis for a better lifestyle and associations within all that start to offer a seasoned surface. Saturn is set to leave your opposite sign in late October and enter the area of your chart concerning the interaction and assistance available from roundabout. You need to cultivate the belief that you deserve to trust or be trust. Because then there is a watershed starting which may very well mark the beginning of a whole new chapter of dependence, independence and interaction which allows for life to be underpinned by different rules where finances are concerned. And the major part of the design is being laid in the twelve months commencing October this year. Mercury goes round on itself in September in your opposite sign of Virgo - this falls in the area of partnership and people on whom you rely for the run-of-the-mill getting by sort of things. So their input or mood could well be the make or break of finer details. And the changes they want to make happen as September passes will be a deciding factor. Not the end of the story, but a very great contributor to the outcome. October is tricky maybe; there is a need to get the seems lined up. It's a lot like applying wallpaper - if the edges don't match the pattern is a mess, and, what is more, it draws the eye in a way which is inconvenient. You do not need the wrong attention bringing to some of your dealings this autumn. Venus retrograde in the other water sign of Scorpio invites you to be discreet, or to honour the discretion of others who work on your behalf in the long rung. Mars in the same sign will, by the end of October, be taking the lead in matters that were previously a silent or undercover issue, and will continue signalling the need for discretionary tactics. Whether that is your own discretion or someone else's remains to be seen. Jupiter - in your sign presently - is the fortunate and benefic bringer of joy only when the worst parts of the plans and the status quo have been brought to light and dealt with. The final flourishes now require that you are strict about what you retain personally in things which are not necessities but indulgences. There can be the greatest freedom of choice in this, but it will have a price. You simply cannot carry everything before you because it will be too heavy. Let go of that which is outworn, cumbersome or not worth it's own weight. When the planet Uranus enters Aries in march next and alines with your Sun, the strain will tell. It is better to off-load stuff your own way while the time allow it. You did have warning of what the future requirements would cost in mid-summer this year. The cost is not in a financial sum here, but a total investment of input to whatever is valuable to you. It's just a question of balance. January of next year is when the more forceful decisions of financial matters make the difference in quality of living.
