New Year 2010Now that Saturn is in your sign there will be unrest as to the things you have left in confusion, but just as much beneficial result for the way you have organised matters elsewhere. Depends where elsewhere is of course! If it is in the vicinity of your career and your recreational status, the rewards are apparent. If it's in a more low-key and personal area then you might well have to do without the praise and be satisfied with a sense of a job well done. The current Saturn to Pluto aspect forms something of a holding area, in which the constraints of your personal life are seen to be coming from your own past choices and desires. How many of those were for the purpose of a future strategy which is now hard to control? Before you change things you should consider what you may have ruthlessly tried to forget, or what you left behind last autumn. Whether you felt you did it it well or not, it might be the case that to get things on a more even keel, or just get them to your liking, you have to step back in April into territory that is outworn but still responsive to what you do in the rest of your life. The past is fertile ground, whether we like it or not. Be sure that you have not buried something prematurely. Good way to do this is by allowing it to gracefully reappear and then disappear, or take up a better position within your life. All this becomes very relevant between April and September, but is best considered from the point of view of now. Mercury retrograde in Capricorn at the very start of the year gives the prompting and the request for personal honesty and that means a stating of facts while establishing lasting conditions within new connections in late January and February. If there is to be the new and untried there also has to be the knowledge of the strength of the base from which it ensues. It's a lot like saying, that if you go travelling you have to know where your stable point of return might be if only so that you can forge a link between where you are heading and where you've been. The anxiousness of librans to move on in their lives now is probably widespread, but it will be coming either from the need to escape or the need to make good on what they have earned. The journey of Jupiter through pisces this year is a rapid one at first. It transits in record time - January to June - and because of the nature of this combination of these two vibrations a lot can just disappear without trace, unless you have contingency plans to support superb theory over into sound practise. There is the need to see a lot of what you do as a labour of love, or a creatively fulfilling chore which is priceless, and then by summer to know when to regroup or prioritize differently. But don't deny what is obviously a means of great enjoyment in the meantime, simply because it can't be guaranteed; many things in life cannot, until they are adjusted to other necessities. By September this is the call, wider adjustment, and if it isn't possible then something in the way of compensation is the comfort for past effort. May UpdateAs Jupiter enters your opposing sign in June it will be accompanied by Uranus for a spell before continuing on it's own - the other planet having retrograded. This interesting meeting of these two contrasting influences is reflecting the bonds and the unusual arrangements you might have with important others or those central to your life. Things could become interesting to say the least, but it they are too much to handle it is because of the larger aspect Jupiter and Uranus are briefly making to the already existing Saturn/Pluto square. There's no denying it's heavy stuff. And it is almost certainly going to impact on the area of your personal life issues and how these are set to pan out during the rest of this year. You have all of May to prepare, and you might be feeling already some of the reverberations, but it's best to remember that Uranus is often referred to as the planet of surprises. Sometimes these are downright shocking and at other times they are mere ripples on the surface of the water. The thing about May is that Mars is set to leave leo after eight months and enter the area of your solar chart governing the unknown or the silent side of life. This is usually the time when you feel the urges and prompting of your unconscious towards a drive for greater purpose or a need for a clearer control of your life. The choices and decisions appealing to you in June are very precise - if not dramatic - and again we have June as a pivotal month with the first half of it presenting a double-edged sword professionally, financially or geographically and requiring maybe lengthy communication or dialogue, if you are to get the best of any bargain without losing patience. Boxing things off for expediency and doing it too quickly is not the way forward. Ride the period out until you feel good with where things are in July and where you can see yourself standing come next spring, and then make the pledge or seal the deal. The full and final entrance of Uranus into aries is next March, and the brief period of June and July is a mere prelude to a larger composition. So here is the overall warning note: the quick return of Jupiter through pisces in the first six months of the year can leave you with nothing to show for efforts you zealously planned and worked on unless you nail your colours to the mast in June and July. You must make it your own, claim it or carry it to a stronger foothold, whatever these plans are - and you will undoubtedly know - otherwise you may become overwhelmed by the need to fit in with the ideas of associates in August and not be confident enough to hold your own in something which isn't designed to work solo and cannot get off the ground without pooled effort. It's another way of saying, before you join forces you must know the strength of your individual value or contribution, or see it absorbed into the colour scheme minus the credit and satisfaction you deserve to gain from it. The period between the latter half of April and the second week of May has given consolidation to the support of other people in the plan, or it has seen them jump ship, but August to September will bring some of them back on again, unexpectedly, and you need the discernment to know whether they are welcome or not, and how much you want to accommodate their requests, criticisms and peculiarities. Give yourself to the end of September and the first few days of October to assess it and remember what occurred in April/ May, as it is all part of the same territory. September UpdateMars has been present in your sign all the month of August and a little bit of September. Together with your ruler Venus it has brought to the fore your propensity to getting stuck between people, places and ideas and trying to work them all to advantage. It is not a cardinal sin, but it is a habit which takes you into sticky situations at times. What transpired in August requires you to be on the lookout during October and most of November for hidden financial snags which may emerge. Could be too late to do anything about the situation unless you scramble for a firmer position during December, from where you can demand a rethink. Fresh negotiation is the only way in November if you are astute enough to spot what's going on. The fact that this involves an attempt towards greater pleasure for someone else as well as yourself does not prevent it from becoming too convolute or expensive to be of real benefit. You must summon personal command of the situation before the end of this year and get an equal say in matters before someone assumes the lead; the right motive is not offset by the wrong moves, no matter how well meaning the intentions. Unless there is a set of factual guidelines which stop the confusion, there's a danger of this collapsing in on itself as the year ends. Please take note of how things moved around in late August to end of September; there was an excavating of ideas and opinions that should have been listened to because the long term writing-on-the-wall was then unmissable The most dangerous point is the Christmas season when desperation to pull things off in time or to make good on promises, pushes you, and others around you, to ridiculous levels of pace and optimism. This optimism may be the only recourse in this stressful time but is not borne out by any sensible evidence. Be daring, yes, but don't be recklessly blind to surrounding atmosphere. The presence of Jupiter back in pisces will have effected your plans with people who might be inseparable from those dearest wishes. This is because they themselves may have suffered setbacks or may have been beset by a lethargy about matters which in the summer they were far more keen. It may be only temporary - they will have the flair again by December - but it is a warning to not put reliance on them for things you can well do yourself. The fact that your ruler Venus is retrograde in scorpio in October means that you must dig deep to find both your energy and your knowledge. You may want to be covert about some actions in October/November, but you should have a good reason for this, and be prepared to emerge in the latter half of November with your usual openness and fairness in tact. You will be suspected otherwise, of favouritism, bias or political manoeuvring. The Saturn, Pluto Square is still bringing difficulties but the worst of the pressure is over by the middle of November. Saturn is moving on now, well and truly to the middle of the the libra vibration, causing all librans to either feel indifference to recent trials and tribulations or to gain the support they need and complete that which cannot be done without it. Much depends on your individual chart, but you should know that the backdrop will suddenly change this year end. And even if this is a relief you still need to be prepared for it or you will be caught between the various options without the necessary design for using them.
