New Year 2010The thing about the current Saturn and Pluto aspect is that it's locking down three compartments of your life - the area of your heart and it's natural expression and the way this then impacts with those involved in this process. In other words, it questions your independence and your faith in those people where change and mutual support is concerned. It takes two to tango, but it only takes one to be out of step to ruin the dance. Latter half of January will increase the need for a detailed understanding of everything learned or imparted since December, so that in late January there can be improvement or a forward motion into more progressive moves, rather than a going round in circles and repeating some clumsy sort of movement - possibly the only course available between Christmas and the first half of January. Although that may have been a part of a vulnerability test, or a stab in the dark for greater stakes, it becomes necessary to establish something more sophisticated or acceptable in time for April when the friends you acquired through necessity or hard work are liable to transform into associates of an enjoyable ilk, or lead you to connections of the more pleasurable variety, simply because the basis for this has been formed in the previous three months. The entrance of Jupiter into pisces is one which will galvanise your wilder notions or aspirations into something above the realm of daydreaming. But the quick return the planet is making out until June is one which begs either a need to have a sabbatical from the mundane and return to normality afterwards. Or the seal of reality once June arrives so that you can translate the quixotic and the semi-imaginery into an area of practicality giving at least half a chance of making permanent anything which has yet to be proven in a more durable dimension; April could bring reversals to the greater caution or humdrum seen in October 2009 unless the liberal flavour established since that time is underpinned by a defining or an acknowledging of what is possible and, more to the point, what is desired by all concerned. When Jupiter retrogrades back into pisces in September it will be with the aim of increasing the depth and a call for obligation in matters requiring your commitment or energy if these same matters are to survive. The second leg of Mars through leo in March will clear up anomalies left over from last October to December, or take you beyond the confines of what was possibly unfinished business preventing that area of life mentioned above which concerns your joy and the personal interaction which allows it to breathe freely. There is a definite exhalation or a sighing of relief once you know that what you felt in the run up to the end of last year was warranted and worth it. Whatever the results of those three months the content and detail within them gives you a lead into a better set of personal circumstances. May, of course, brings the sun to your own sign, and then the dilemmas or the diversions seem natural to you because you can more easily see what your purpose is in it all, but unless you make a strong claim in the summer months you don't get the licence or the support that takes things through a watershed period in September and October. May UpdateNow that Mars is on the last leg of its transit through leo, the long drawn out problems/issues hanging around from last year - if there are any - are about to reach a climax from which things must conclude or dissolve. On the other hand, it could be that what you felt about your environment from October last is more to the point, and if so there will be a summation of everything you have experienced which urges you to use the information to trust very new territory for the next viable place to be. This will have beckoned or become possible in late April, and by June you will have had the baptism by fire that only Mars/leo can produce, thus putting your passion to the test. With Saturn retrograded back into virgo for a three month stint, you will need to establish finally where your loyalties lie in matters personal and domestic. This is a rare chance to maybe experience the best of two worlds between April and July, and then you must close some doors, or at least one door for good, if you don't want to see certain people move off impatiently, no longer willing to put up with your indecisiveness. With your famed love of being between and amongst those things or projects you love rather than firmly on one team or another, you may not like what the three or four months from May to August would have you do, but it's necessary if you're to make progress which can sustain beyond then without being absorbed by other concerns, or by an alliance of those you rely on but who take and utilise what you want to individually retain. To scatter the energies thinly is contrary to what develops in July and August. And although you may not feel good with singular action until June or July, you will then see that your heightened popularity or standing with the people concerned is a compensation for any other deficit. One of the larger planetary changes this year is Uranus moving into aries after seven years in pisces, and for geminians this will come as a welcome break from the drawn out folding of chapters which you have had no choice but to contribute to, even loosely. Or from traditions which you subscribe to in an obligatory way in order to stay on a chosen course. But when Jupiter joins Uranus in aries in June the ties that have to be cut and the rules that have to be broken can happen without recrimination and with the least amount of contention. The period between middle of June and second week of September is one when you break into a run, if not if not a sweat, and establish the ground needed for a more invigorating social life, or a slice of the connectedness that make and break the sort of ambition you might have for yourself. It is really a question of degree here, because the Universe judges you not on what you aspire to, but how strongly you feel about it. Some of you may want only to move to the next street for a larger garden, and others will want to move to the next country for a view of the ocean. But all of it comes with an amount of daring in June, which costs nothing but some nerve. The results then are decided by what can be created or merged with already existing forces and outlets between June 2010 and March 2011. The seal of safe go-ahead is in the spring of next year, so be aware of the need for careful colonisation even as things open up to the next desired stage in the course of this summer and autumn. September UpdateYour ruler Mercury is retrograde in your fellow Mercury-ruled sign of Virgo this September - and although this began in August its lingering influence will be to demand that you take a magnifying glass, or a telescope, to some of the things that are passing for facts in your world. If you don't do this someone else will, and it mean that the glory goes to the first person to spot the deliberate mistake! Seriously, until things are sorted and examined for flaws and impracticality there is every chance that you have not caught up with yourself until the last five days of September. Not only because Mercury in the earth sign of Virgo loves to be pedantic and dissect the facts you took for granted or as indispensable to your private prosperity, but also because the retrograde motion of Jupiter back into pisces will have a confusing or bemusing effect on your view of career matters as well. So with both your worlds - personal and public - beset by this cloudy atmosphere it will take all your resolve and stamina to remain focused and directed as the year moves into winter. But please do your best to be so. These Alice-in-Wondeland clips are to be seen as a test. After which you will never fear the grey areas again. The intensely subjective and hedonistic planet Venus is also retrograde in October, in the watery sign of Scorpio, and this will make for some interesting depth encounters, either with others or with facets of yourself as you struggle to understand and come to terms with your more scary or daring desires. Nothing should be scary in your own inner theatre, but of course it often is. After the direct motion of Venus alines with the presence of Mars in the second week of October it will be a tussle between your need to be thorough about your vocation and the need to be open to adventure arising from that same area. Can you do both? Of course you can -you're Gemini for heaven's sake. But naturally the price will be the tug-of-war and its toll, and if you can make both ends meet rather than have them fray in the middle, you'll have transcended the worst of the fears and the worst of the consequences. Its a strange old end to the year. It will take nerves of steel and the wisdom of Solomon to get the balance right between the firmness required to deal with financial co-operative matters and the whims and vagaries of other peoples wishes and demands. But by the middle of November you will begin to learn the way around a maize or a mystery which alluded you earlier in the spring. The very innovative sign of Aries welcomes the energetic Jupiter again in late January, so entry to new areas of connection or widening of lifestyle vista is something you may want to think about well before that time. Some of it you might have balked at earlier in 2010 but 'fortune favours the prepared mind' said Lao Tse way back in ancient times, and he was probably on the money. It might be a good idea to begin as soon as you can to hatch a ground-plan. The window on worlds which are not readily accessible to everyone are open for a brief period in the next seven or eight months. Its not the necessarily the windows that need the appraisal, its your own keenness of vision and powers of observation that require honing. January next will see the visionary side of life brought to the fore, both in terms of the physical examination of things under your power to change and control, and the area of inventiveness or creativity upon which the best of life's discoveries and changes depend. Gemini is noted for its ability to bring things together, once it gets rooted firmly in a good position to do so without losing central balance. Go for it, the platform is yours.
