CANCER 22nd June - 22nd July

Outlook for 2012

January 2012

The planet Uranus is still worrying your sign. January 2012 is the third time this maverick energetic planet goes back to the start of Aries and starts an ever so surging and searing transit. It first entered Aries in June 2010 but then retrograded in July that year and landed back at the start of the Aries vibration in March 2011. Although it went direct again last December it takes time to pick up speed and really grip the sign, therefore it's likely that this January 2012 will see final opportunities for renewals or re-starts in plans and pathways on the agenda since last June to be launched exactly as you want them to be. Some of these portend the unknown and the untried. Foolhardy schemes don't always fail, nor do they always succeed, but the judgement of whether they are foolhardy or not is best left until some results show – or perhaps fail to show, as the case may be. In all probability it will be the middle of summer this year before there is anything to rely on in the background of what has been building since last year. Achievement will be dependent upon how certain schemes meet with larger areas of support, beaurocratic approval or maybe just the good-will of a few others who should be known to you at the very latest by June. Jupiter is also back at the beginning of the early degrees of Taurus in January so here again we have the likelihood of lifestyle plans or schemes involving associates, and these plans have to start again on an entirely new premise or on the overhauled terms of last year, in order to be fit for purpose.

The fact that Mars is doing a long haul of Virgo until July puts the spotlight squarely on your immediate environment, your daily schedule or friendships which make up the stuff of your everyday life. Perhaps all three of these are involved in the same scenarios. There will be one scenario at least which is key to the way your life unfolds as the summer passes to autumn. The thoroughness with which Mars will pass through this earth sign – and bear in mind it has been doing so since November last year – is something which cannot be under-estimated. It can be likened to a bulldozer or a similar piece of apparatus tilling up soil and clearing landmass. Mars loves to traverse the earth signs – so much practical development possible - and the earth signs accommodate Mars with relish. Mars through Virgo is a combination which can only leave things cleaner or more transparent than the way they were before the energy visited them. It might seem that little is happening in February and March after the more startling revelations of November and December last but the facts are simply embedding deeper and becoming more established. Did we mention that Mars in Virgo loves revelations? It loves to excavate, expose, and throw up anything obscured or buried. So skeletons can rattle in cupboards long forgotten. And it might be the cupboards and not the skeletons which pose the big questions or the dilemmas.

Whilst Mercury is in your opposite sign of Capricorn in January it gives the issue of partnerships a firmer edge from which to pose difficult questions or proposals to people who seem implacable or immovable. Don't leave such pertinent questions (or doubts that keep you awake at night) until later than the middle of February or you'll find yourself caving in to even the unspoken demands of others; your resolve will weaken under a sensitivity to what they are going through, which might be misplaced or at least not within your field of responsibility. Cancerians are tough cookies on the outside but easily manipulated by the more unscrupulous and less feeling. This is nothing to be ashamed of, Cancer, but it is certainly something to guard against when things are at crucial junctures. This year is the much famed 2012 - heralding the real start of the Age of Aquarius proper. It might mean a shift of consciousness so large that there are literally several camps left afterwards, into which fall the various types of followers and leaders and innovators and enablers. Cancerian people are both innovators and enablers, often at the same time. The very nurturing side of Cancer usually means that whatever else you pursue in life and no matter what other talents you possess you are still involved with nurturing other people, or at least one other person, to a very great extent and put a lot into that side of your life. Try to sort out by the start of September, if you can, the boundaries and responsibilities that are fair where dependents and loved ones are concerned. Your innovative flair needs to be freer and untrammelled by extraneous responsibilities.
