We are in the middle of the long transit of Mars through Virgo; for Arians this means the accent is on vocation, health and that area of duty which can't be ignored. The urging and purging that this planet will do to these concerns is considerable, but it will not be until the second week of July that the full picture emerges as to how things have changed and what further change is needed to sustain benefit which can be beneficial in the long run. There is a shift of energy this spring by courtesy of transiting Uranus and it should see the going-round-in-circles effect, which may have been the case for you since last June, come to an end, and a breakthrough to a straighter or more obvious direction become the norm. Although this will be happening in January, the evidence might not be obvious until the end of March, when the impact of what was started last year (or hoped for last year) hits home and the plot begins to run way with the planning, unless you are prepared for how far things can go and how successful they can be; the slower the preparation period and the deeper the perimeters the more the ultimate objective begins to take on a definitive shape and a tangible perspective. Don't wonder at this – you asked for it. You put forward the thought and the desire and then backed it with some good effort and even more keen faith.

2012 is the year long since talked of as signifying the start of the Aquarian Age proper (hitherto we have been on the cusp between Pisces and Aquarius in the Procession of the Equinox) and many argue and debate about what exactly the year will mean. We believe that it will depend on who you are, what you've been doing and how your atunement to finer energies is developing. It could be that there will be nothing special for some people when the year has passed and gone, and indeed some won't even have heard of 2012 as anything beyond a date on the calendar. There were things which you begun last year, to fortify or underpin your monetary position, which could not be properly gotten off the ground until this January. Don't balk at having to go back to the start of something to see how they were last June, in order to realign them with fresh knowledge and better positioning and get them onto a track set to hurtle past the impediments and detours of the end of August 2011, when for some of you things were hopelessly delayed or aborted.

In February when Venus enters your sign the more calmer type of assertiveness is required, and the steadier kind of confidence which generates trust. For the female Arian it will mean natural independence in areas where they need to make a name for themselves or carve a unique profile. This pays off by the end of the month when a deal is struck or a door is opened. But it's the end of April that seals the deal or allows for the inauguration into fields and achievements which serve to change your life direction with strong purpose if you look long term and agree to accept the responsibility. For male Arians the possibility of pleasurable pursuits and the influence of strong females can represent life changing tempo, provided contracts are signed or agreements formalised – even if these are modified or dispensed with farther along the line. In May you will know how the Mars influence on your obligations and vocation has allowed more choice where previously there has been little, and how the freedom within that can grant you entrance to associations and organisation that are both established and exciting. There is a need for all Aries people, whatever their position in life, to make a strong vow of excellence in order to excel.
